Earth Day cleanup 2017: 1 if by land, 2 if by sea…

Well, not exactly the midnight ride of Paul Revere, but the EI Parrotheads cleaned up by land and by sea on Earth Day 2017. Over 3 dozen EI Parrotheads cleaned up  NC 58 and the Intracoastal Waterway.

The “land” contingent was lead by Jean Jensen, and they picked up 15 bags of trash and several election signs, starting on the EI side of the bridge and going over to the NC 58/NC 24 intersection:

The “sea” contingent was led by Val Johnson, who organized a flotilla of 5 boats. The boats were captained by Jason Holland, Steve Johnson, Gary Hardee, Todd Kuntz, and Joel Dunn. The flotilla met at marker #33 on the ICW and worked its way back toward the WRC channel from Archers’ Point. The flotilla picked up a pickup truck load of trash bags (thanks for the truck, Steve J.!), a tire, and an EZ-UP tent (at least what was left of it 😉 ):

It was a good deed and a great time! We then met on Pelican Island in Swansboro Harbor for hotdogs & fixin’s, organized by Val!
