PHiP’s Meeting of the Minds 2020 is being Postponed

Hello Everyone:
The last few months have been challenging causing schools and businesses to be closed, concerts to be cancelled, and sporting events to be postponed. After working closely with our business partners, sponsors, and the Casa Marina we have decided to postpone PHIP’s Annual Meeting of the Minds 2020.
We have done this out of a great abundance of caution for our members, performers, and all the volunteers that make this event so amazing. This decision was not easy but we felt it was necessary. There is currently too much uncertainty surrounding precautions that will be needed in the future and the possible resurfacing of the Covid-19 virus that might happen later this year.
As the window to cancel the event was closing, making the decision now will allow Parrot Heads in Paradise and PHiP’s Meeting of the Minds to flourish in the future. Also, it will allow you to cancel any travel plans you have already made.
You will receive a refund of your registration for the event by July 31, 2020. Please bear in mind it will take some time to process all of the refunds and get them to you.
You can rest assured that we will do everything possible to make next year a celebration to remember. We appreciate your understanding and trust that we are doing what is in the best interest of everyone involved.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: How do I get a registration refund?
A: There is nothing for you to do. This will be an automatic process and is only limited by the time required to process all of the payments back to those who are currently registered.
Q: How long will it take me to receive a refund?
A: Depending on volume you should receive your refund prior to July 31, 2020

 

Q. How will my refund be issued?
A. Every attempt will be made to refund your registration in the same manner you paid.  Due to restrictions by our service provided, we are only able to go back 120 days to issue an electronic refund.   If we are unable to issue an electronic refund, you will receive a check via U.S. mail. If you paid by check, you will receive your refund by check.

 

Q. Can I keep my reservation at the Casa Marina for 2021?
A. No, all reservations for PHiP’s MOTM 2020 booked using our group booking code will be canceled and refunded.

 

Q: Do I have to contact the Casa Marina for a refund?
A: No, the Casa Marina will contact you as soon as possible via email. Given the Casa is still closed with a minimal staff in-house the hotel refunds could take up to 30 days to be returned to you so please be patient with the process given the situation.

 

Q: What are the dates for next year’s event?
A: Thursday, November 4, 2021 through Saturday, November 6, 2021

 

Q: When will I be able to book a room at the Casa for PHiP’s MOTM 2021?
A:  Booking for the 2021 event cannot start until the normal timing which is typically at the end of the calendar year. The hotel booking for 2021 will be announced via email and social media at that time.

2020 Scholarship Announces The Chance For This One Week Vacation

A GREAT WAY TO HELP THE PHiP SCHOLARSHIP

You can be the lucky winner of a Margaritaville Island Reserve all-inclusive One Week vacation in Riviera Maya!

This year Ultimate Vacations has graciously donated a week long trip to help benefit the PHiP scholarship.

You can buy these tickets individually or as a club donation to the scholarship (domino college recognition) and use this great prize for your fundraiser. DETAILS OF THE TRIP ARE AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS POST.
Please pass this information around to all your club members. All are eligible to win whether they are going to MOTM or not.

*How about buying some chances as a club to use the prize for your clubs fund raiser?  The trip is good for one year so there is plenty of time after MOTM to redeem the trip.

Parrot Heads in Paradise have been awarding qualified parrot heads and their children a total of $10,000 in scholarships every year for the last 11 years. Fundraising has been just keeping pace with our pay-outs each year and we want to add some additional funds to ensure future years’ have adequate funding. To make sure that we can continue to award these gifts well into the future we have come up with a great way to help that cause.  Ultimate Vacations has donated a week long trip for two to raffle off this year. We will be selling tickets via PayPal or check going through October and until 2:30 at MOTM. We will draw for the trip Saturday, October 31st from the stage at Meeting of the Minds for the eight day/seven night all-inclusive trip.   Winners do not need to be present at MOTM to win the trip!  Tickets are five for $20 or five dollars for one. I will send you via email with a list of your numbers so you have them for your records. I will be tracking the name and numbers of every ticket coming in and they will all be in Key West for the drawing. Hello Everyone. I hope everyone is staying safe during these very different days we are experiencing at this time. I want to give everyone a few updates for PHiP’s Meeting of the Minds 2020!
HERE ARE THE DRAWING WINNERS FOR PHiP’s MEETING OF THE MINDS 2020!
For the four FREE nights in a two bedroom suite at the Casa Marina we have a winner! You had to be registered for PHiP’s MOTM 2020 and have booked a reservation at the Casa Marina by April 1st to be in this drawing. The lucky winners are Brian and Robin Aslakson of Freemont, Michigan. They are both members of the Virtual Parrot Head Club. It pays to register early and stay at the Casa Marina Resort!
Next! For the 2 concert tickets and hospitality passes to see JIMMY BUFFETT AND THE CORAL REEFER BAND show in a city of your choice in the USA or Canada during the 2020 tour courtesy of MARGARITAVILLE FOODS! THE CASA MARINA IS SOLD OUT WITH A WAIT LIST
The Casa Marina is sold-out with a wait list being built at the Reach Resort. This is great news for our event. If you want to be on the list for a Casa Marina room if we get cancellations here is the method:
The 2020 MOTM Wait List for the Casa Marina – Here are the 3 steps below:
1. Register for Meeting of the Minds 2020.
REMEMBER YOU MUST BE REGISTERED FOR MEETING OF THE MINDS 2020 TO STAY AT THE CASA MARINA OR BE ON THE WAIT LIST FOR THE CASA.
2. Book your room at the Reach Resort. While our awesome Parrot Head rate is only valid at the Casa Marina the Reach is offering a discount to our group this year. This Reach Resort rate will not be as low as the Casa rate but there is a booking discount for MOTM Parrot Heads. There are some Casa Marina cancellations every year so booking early will put you up the list as we do go in order to move people over as vacancy happens through the year. This can happen right up to the event so give the hotel your cell number not your home number for contact!

3. Email our MOTM Director of Registration Kathy Kaz at motmkathykaz@gmail.com

Put in the title of your email “PHiP’s MOTM Casa Marina Wait List.” Tell Kathy you are booked at the Reach and registered for PHiP’s MOTM.  Kathy will add you to the Casa Marina wait list in the order in which you contact her.

We have to fill the Casa Marina so we will work very hard to move everyone we can as cancellations occur. We will be working down the order in which you reply to Kathy Kaz. Sorry for any confusion but it is best to manage this list through Kathy vs. contacting the hotel.

Hello everyone! Here are a few quick updates for PHiP’s Meeting of the Minds 2020. There are many distractions in the world right now and I hope you and yours are staying safe wherever you are. Better days are ahead and as the song line goes “Everything is Gonna’ be Alright.”
Before I get to the news I want to treat you to a video from Aaron Scherz who just released his brand new awesome single “Beach Town” yesterday and you can hear it now on Radiomargaritaville… I asked Aaron if he would give us a quick update on his band and up-coming set at the Casa Marina during PHiP’s Meeting of the Minds 2020. This band will feature Coral Reefers Doyle Grisham and Eric Darken as well as on-going Coral Reefer Will Kimbrough. Our drawing deadlines for two great prizes are next Tuesday, March 31st at midnight EDT. I will to tell you more about the drawings below and the Casa Marina booking status. So let’s start with the Casa. There are exactly 3 suites left to sell for PHiP’s MOTM 2020. Once those are gone we are sold out in every room type at the Casa Marina which means we start building an over-flow list for any Casa reservation cancellations. Hurry if you want one of the remaining suites as they may book as soon as this email goes out.
The over-flow hotel for PHiP’s Meeting of the Minds is the newly renovated Reach Resort right down the beach from the Casa. If you do not want a suite at the Casa you can book at the Reach and request a move to the Casa if rooms become available in the class you want to book. If you use the Reach booking link provided below you will receive a 10% parrot head discount and a $20 resort fee discount. You must use the link below to get these discounts.

The award will be paid to the winners school account, when a student account is established.

PHiP awards 3 awards in the amounts of:

First Place: $5,000
Second Place: $3,000
Third Place: $2,000

Eligibility: Parrot Head Club Members and members children (Sorry nieces, nephews or other extended family members beyond those mentioned are not considered eligible)

Hello Everyone!
February is here and it is time to let you know how things are progressing for the “Party at the End of the World” in Key West this year! I can tell you that my phone line and computer have been working overtime for weeks to connect with the artists and bands who will fill the stages at PHiP’s Meeting of the Minds later this year. There is still much to do but I think you are going to love what you see when the schedule rolls out in just a few short weeks. Some of the seeds that were planted over a year ago will bear fruit in Key West this year!
We want everyone who wants to stay at the Casa during PHiP’s MOTM 2020 to be there! The latest update from Key West had the Casa Marina Resort booked at over 87% occupancy for PHiP’S Meeting of the Minds 2020. Many room types are sold out but there are still some rooms if you want one! Book as soon as you can as we need every room occupied with Parrot Heads!!!
