Good day my fellow Parrot Heads! February has gone by fast with its Super Bowl celebrations and its sweet hugs and kisses on St. Valentine’s Day. Now, get ready for a cheery “Top of the Morning!” as we celebrate the Emerald Isle St. Patty’s Day Festival on Saturday, March 16. Come support our volunteers working at the EIPHC booth onsite. We are proudly sponsoring as our charity Family Promise of Carteret County whose mission is to assist the homeless.
We’re rolling out more events this Spring for your enjoyment! Be sure to Save the Date for our infamous EIPHC Beach Bike Poker Run on May 18, 2019. Personally, this is one of my favorites because it involves a bunch of Fruitcakes like me enjoying a chaotic but somehow organized poker run on bicycles to participating establishments on the Island! All profits will be donated to Semper Fi Fund Kids Camp for local Onslow and Carteret County children of wounded warriors. The families of these kids are so grateful for our love and support every year.
In addition, don’t miss our “Fins Up” Party Weekend. The Beer & Baseball Bus Tour begins at 12 noon on June 1. On June 2, the Emerald Club is hosting a “Fins Up” Party with live music from Rick Lamb and the Phin-Addicts. I can’t believe these guys are performing for us at the Wood Ducks game on Saturday and then again Sunday afternoon at the E-Club. They are an award-winning, popular and loved band on the Trop Rock Circuit and played inside and outside the States! These are Parrot Head party music veterans and have promised us a great show at both events! So, spread your wings and come fly with us! NOTE: Registration for the Beer & Ballgame Adventure is available on-line until March 10.

Shamrock Shenanigans Phlocking March 1st☘️…
It’s Phlocking time again. Join the fun at 7:00 at the Emerald Club, March 1st. Bonnie Forkey is hosting and has planned an exciting shamrock hunt and chosen Carobell Inc as our 50/50 charity… Carobell is A COMMUNITY SERVICE PROVIDER DEDICATED TO PROVIDING SELF-DIRECTED SUPPORTS FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH INTELLECTUAL DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES, EMPOWERING THEM TO REACH THEIR FULLEST POTENTIAL. They are located in Hubert and do wonderful things everyday for wonderful people in our community! Hoping Spring will have sprung by then and you can come out and phlock with us!
PHiP’s Meeting of the Minds 2019 Update

It’s almost February and the days are getting a little longer. I hope you are staying warm for now and thinking of tropical times later this year! We want YOU in Key West in November! Here is a quick update on PHiP’s Meeting of the Minds 2019 “License to Chill” in Key West, Florida!
The planning portion of PHiP’s Meeting of the Minds for 2019 is well underway. As I write this I am talking to artists and putting together some entertainment that will be the deal of the year for a Parrot Head. Standby for all that schedule information as the artist contracts come together over the next month or so.
In the mean time I want you to know that the gift bag stuffing party is almost full so don’t wait if you want in on that party. After we “fill the room” we cannot add people. Register now to get in on the bag stuffing party!
The host hotel is 75% full already and room types will start getting scarce very soon. Do not delay to get a Casa reservation if you are planning to stay at the host hotel!
Remember if you book a room at the Casa Marina you need to go register for PHiP’s Meeting of the Minds. YOU MUST BE A REGISTERED FOR MOTM TO STAY AT THE CASA MARINA! Only credentialed guests will be allowed into the Casa Marina property during the event.
“GET YOUR GAME ON!” PHLOCKING FEBRUARY 1
February 1, 2019, 7 p.m, E-Club! Let the games begin! Celebrate your favorite team (college or professional) by sporting your team’s colors, logos, jerseys, hats etc. The night will include fine music, a 50/50 drawing, Matt’s great food and special drinks. There’s also planned a cool, phun game for those who love their mascot!! See you there!

Get ready, get set, let’s go! We’re off and running and looking forward to our new year of 2019 and all it has in store for us! 2018 was awesome and we couldn’t have had the success we had without all of you! Thanks to the time you donated and to your gracious generosity, we made a significant change in many lives! Thanks also to the generosity of our many sponsors for their continued support with our events throughout the year.
Our Phlock has many great things coming in this new year and you won’t want to miss any of them. PHiP Scholarship Announcement

It’s that time of year again for the PHiP Scholarship Essay Contest.
We are proud to announce that the PHiP Scholarship Essay Contest for 2019 is NOW OPEN!!!!!!
Summary of the PHiP Scholarship:
The PHiP Scholarship is for current Parrot Head Club Members of an officially Chartered Chapter or their children or wards of Parrot Head Club Members, for post secondary education.
This program was established in 2008. Three scholarships will be awarded in 2019. The funds may be used for tuition, books or living expenses, at an accredited four-year university or college of the student’s choice. The award will be paid to the winners school account, when a student account is established.
PHiP awards 3 awards in the amounts of:
First Place: $5,000
Second Place: $3,000
Third Place: $2,000
Eligibility: Parrot Head Club Members and members children (Sorry nieces, nephews or other extended family members beyond those mentioned are not considered eligible)

It is VERY important the applicant follow ALL of the rules and instructions. Only typed, electronic submissions will be accepted. Incomplete applications will not be considered eligible.

SOUPER BOWL 2019
The Emerald Isle Parrot Heads would like to invite you to join us for another day of fun to support a great cause. Come out and watch the 2019 Super Bowl and cheer on the team of your choosing or just choose the best commercial. We will be hosting a SOUPER BOWL PARTY at Island Time Tavern on Sunday, February 3rd from 4:40pm until the big game is done. Please plan to bring your favorite SOUP (soup, stew or chili), appetizers or dessert to share. There will be drink specials and some fun and games. Feel free to wear your favorite team jersey or fan attire, even if they didn’t make it to the big game. Non-perishable foods and cash donations will be collected on the day of the event to benefit a local soup kitchen. Come out and Phlock with your Phriends! Sign-up sheets will be available at the February Phlocking (2/2/19) and at Island Time Tavern or you can just show up the day of the event. Look for the event posting on Facebook.
