PHiP Scholarship Notice

 

Hello Club Leaders: 
It’s that time of year again for the PHiP Scholarship Essay Contest.  Please pass this information along to your club members.  You can cut and paste this email and include it in your email you send out to your members.   This is the only way that your members will know of this great opportunity and we need you as leaders to make sure that this information gets out to each and every one of them.  This is a wonderful opportunity for your members and their families.  Please forward this email to you club at least once a month for the next three months in your clubs communications.  This is  a great opportunity that we want all eligible students to take advantage of.  Thanks in advance for helping to get the word out and good luck to all the applicants.

We are proud to announce that the PHiP Scholarship Essay Contest for 2018 is NOW OPEN!!!!!!

Summary of the PHiP Scholarship:

The PHiP Scholarship is for current Parrot Head Club Members of an officially Chartered Chapter or their children or wards of Parrot Head Club Members, for post secondary education.

This program was established in 2008.  Three scholarships will be awarded in 2018. The funds may be used for tuition, books or living expenses, at an accredited four-year university or college of the student’s choice.  The award will be paid to the winners’ school account, when a student account is established.

PHiP awards 3 awards in the amounts of:

First Place: $5,000
Second Place: $3,000
Third Place: $2,000Eligibility: Parrot Head Club Members and members children (Sorry nieces, nephews or other extended family members beyond those mentioned are not considered eligible)The Scholarship instructions and application can be found on the PHiP Website at:

It is VERY important the applicant follow ALL of the rules and instructions. Only typed, electronic submissions will be accepted. Incomplete applications will not be considered eligible.Make no references to your identity, your local parrot head club or your location in your essay entry OR your question and statement responses.

All applications must be signed at the appropriate place. We accept electronic signatures.

Hello Everyone!

It is starting to slowly get warmer and concert season is coming soon! It is time to think about how you want to spend your vacation time! What better way than in Key West at Meeting of the Minds 2018? Here is an update on Meeting of the Minds.

From my last update the Casa Marina is approaching a sell-out. We have a few rooms left but it seems every time I send an email out we have a surge in reservations so fair warning! Please tell your Parrot Heads PHriends so no one is left out if they want a room at the Casa!

Remember if you book a room at the Casa Marina you need to go register for Meeting of the Minds at the same time. YOU MUST BE REGISTERED FOR MOTM TO STAY AT THE CASA MARINA!

YOU MUST REGISTER FOR MEETING OF THE MINDS 2018 WITHIN 30 DAYS OF BOOKING A ROOM AT THE CASA MARINA. THIS INCLUDES ANYONE STAYING IN THE ROOM WITH YOU. IF YOU BOOK A ROOM PLEASE REGISTER AT THE SAME TIME TO AVOID HAVING YOUR RESERVATION CANCELLED.

MEETING OF THE MINDS 2018 ENTERTAINMENT SCHEDULE

I wanted to let you know I am hard at work on the entertainment schedule and should be able to get the artists and bands on the web site in the next month or so. Standby for that announcement. I think you are going to like what you will see!

January 2018 Edition of the PHIP Tradewind Times is available online

 

The first Quarter 2018 Tradewind Times edition is now available on line and ready for reading and sharing!  In this issue you’ll find the wrap up of last year’s MOTM and some important information about this year’s 27th Meeting of the Minds – “We are the People Our Parents Warned Us About”.  
There is info on the Golden Coconut club winner, a featured club, plus some unique clubs – the Virtual PHC and a new club in Belize.  The PHIP Scholarship contest is now open so check it out.  Plus see the standard quarterly financial reports, Domino College, regional events and club birthdays.  Please share this email with your club members!

Hello Everyone!
I hope you are all staying warm during this cold January! I want to see if I can get you thinking about the tropics and some great times complete with music! Here is an update on Meeting of the Minds 2018.
From my last update the Casa Marina is about 80% full and we still have a week and a half left in January! Things are moving fast in the hotel reservations office. Don’t wait too long to book as we are moving towards a sell-out soon! ! Please tell your Parrot Heads PHriends so no one is left out if they want a room at the Casa!

Event info forms for Website/Facebook updates

The EIPHC technology committee has developed some forms to help our event organizers help us get information out to the membership before an event, and to get a summary of events posted after it’s over. We have two versions of each form, one that you can type in with a PDF viewer like Adobe Acrobat on the PC or Preview on the Mac, and one that you just print out, fill in, scan and send. All forms can be returned to “info@emeraldisleparrotheads.org” as a PDF, or as a photo or scan from your phone. Just contact us if you have questions, the technology committee is here to help!
