Beginning June 1 and continuing through the entire month of June, you are challenged to “Accept the EIPHC Let’s Get Physical Challenge and Donate to the Salvation Army of Carteret County.” Watch out for a Facebook challenge from our President for more information. Your job is to accept the challenge and post a picture or video on Facebook of your favorite physical activity during the pandemic (non-offensive). Search the Menu on www.emeraldisleparrotheads.com for an easy way to contribute to the Salvation Army of Carteret County to help them assist local families who have been harshly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. This is a great way for us Parrot Heads to continue to “Party with a Purpose!”
JUNE 5 PHLOCKING A/K/A BEACH SWEEP!
Let’s practice what the Parrott Heads preach this month. We are going to Party with a Purpose on Friday June 5 at 7:00 pm! Let’s make Jimmy Buffet proud of us and our commitment to giving back to our community. Wear your favorite Parrott Head or shirt if you have one, so we are easily identifiable and meet us on the beach at the Bogue Inlet Pier for a Beach Sweep. The Parrott Heads are going to help clean up the beach while hanging out together. We will respect the Covid 19 Guidelines while we socialize because we’ll have plenty of room to spread out on the beach. Grab your mask, some gloves, a few friends, a chair or blanket and cooler of beer and let’s come together for the good of the community. We have missed everyone and hope you will join us at this unique Phlocking!
While we’re at it, stop by the E Club and purchase your beer for the beach from Matt. He’ll even give you free ice! We can show him some LOVE too! We also plan to debut the new 2020 Parrott Head T-shirts! Bring some extra cash, cause you’re going to love them!!

President’s Notes May 2020
“We Have a Lot to Drink About!” Things are beginning to reopen around us, too slow for some and too fast for others. Our reaction will be what we deem the best for ourselves, families and community. Our club experienced many cancellations, postponements, and the hardship of not being together! We’ve had to settle with being in the chicken coup rather than flying with the PHlock! Well, it’s time to “breathe in, breathe out, and move on.”
The Board is in the process of scheduling some really PHun events to help us continue serving our community and surrounding PHriends during these hard times. We are all in this together and we look forward to your support. Bring us your enthusiasm, tropical spirit, desire to help others, love for your environment, and most of all, your willingness to hang in here with us as we move through unfamiliar waters. Let’s all look forward to our future and sail these open seas together!

PHiP’s Meeting of the Minds 2020 is being Postponed
Hello Everyone:
The last few months have been challenging causing schools and businesses to be closed, concerts to be cancelled, and sporting events to be postponed. After working closely with our business partners, sponsors, and the Casa Marina we have decided to postpone PHIP’s Annual Meeting of the Minds 2020.
We have done this out of a great abundance of caution for our members, performers, and all the volunteers that make this event so amazing. This decision was not easy but we felt it was necessary. There is currently too much uncertainty surrounding precautions that will be needed in the future and the possible resurfacing of the Covid-19 virus that might happen later this year.
As the window to cancel the event was closing, making the decision now will allow Parrot Heads in Paradise and PHiP’s Meeting of the Minds to flourish in the future. Also, it will allow you to cancel any travel plans you have already made.
You will receive a refund of your registration for the event by July 31, 2020. Please bear in mind it will take some time to process all of the refunds and get them to you.
You can rest assured that we will do everything possible to make next year a celebration to remember. We appreciate your understanding and trust that we are doing what is in the best interest of everyone involved.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: How do I get a registration refund?
A: There is nothing for you to do. This will be an automatic process and is only limited by the time required to process all of the payments back to those who are currently registered.
Q: How long will it take me to receive a refund?
A: Depending on volume you should receive your refund prior to July 31, 2020
Q. How will my refund be issued?
A. Every attempt will be made to refund your registration in the same manner you paid. Due to restrictions by our service provided, we are only able to go back 120 days to issue an electronic refund. If we are unable to issue an electronic refund, you will receive a check via U.S. mail. If you paid by check, you will receive your refund by check.
Q. Can I keep my reservation at the Casa Marina for 2021?
A. No, all reservations for PHiP’s MOTM 2020 booked using our group booking code will be canceled and refunded.
Q: Do I have to contact the Casa Marina for a refund?
A: No, the Casa Marina will contact you as soon as possible via email. Given the Casa is still closed with a minimal staff in-house the hotel refunds could take up to 30 days to be returned to you so please be patient with the process given the situation.
Q: What are the dates for next year’s event?
A: Thursday, November 4, 2021 through Saturday, November 6, 2021
Q: When will I be able to book a room at the Casa for PHiP’s MOTM 2021?
A: Booking for the 2021 event cannot start until the normal timing which is typically at the end of the calendar year. The hotel booking for 2021 will be announced via email and social media at that time.

Wow, what a beautiful day in the neighborhood! I’m ready to get out there and work in the yard, take a walk, sit in the sun with some beach tunes playing and later grilling some hamburgers. This is good stuff ya’ll!
As you already know, it’s better to look at what we CAN DO, rather than what we CAN’T! You guys prove it every day with numerous photos shared in the media reflecting your creativity and hope. I enjoy your sharing of new recipes, freshly coated paint jobs, gardens just planted, walkers on trails and beaches and much more. We enjoy each other through FaceTime, emails, the media, social distancing, virtual meetings and more! Clearly, we are making the best of this mess and know that we’ll be together again. And, when we do find that day, we’ll appreciate everything and everybody so much more! Even though we are apart, we will remain strong and united as a Parrot Head Nation and together we will rock no matter who we are or where we’re from! PHINZ UP and STAY SAFE! Jan H., Pres.

Parrot Heads in Paradise have been awarding qualified parrot heads and their children a total of $10,000 in scholarships every year for the last 11 years. Fundraising has been just keeping pace with our pay-outs each year and we want to add some additional funds to ensure future years’ have adequate funding. To make sure that we can continue to award these gifts well into the future we have come up with a great way to help that cause. Ultimate Vacations has donated a week long trip for two to raffle off this year. We will be selling tickets via PayPal or check going through October and until 2:30 at MOTM. We will draw for the trip Saturday, October 31st from the stage at Meeting of the Minds for the eight day/seven night all-inclusive trip. Winners do not need to be present at MOTM to win the trip!
