Emerald Isle Parrot Head club invites you on “VENDREDI”, March 7th @ 7:00 pm, to join us at the EClub for some PHoolish Phun!!! Don’t put away your masks, beads, and parasols on Fat Tuesday because we want to see you flaunt, saunter, and march in our festive parade! Prizes for best dressed participants! Then take a turn Whacking at the WACKY Piñata. That’s right! A fun-filled Piñata! And Who out there is ROYALTY? Find out when we slice up the king cake! We will crown both a KING and QUEEN! For our Phlocking 50/50 half will go to the winning ticket drawn and half will be donated to the SURFRIDER Foundation Bogue Banks chapter. The Surfrider Foundation is dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world’s ocean, waves, and beaches, for all people, through a powerful  active network.

We are proud to announce that The PHiP Bob Heffelfinger Memorial Scholarship Essay Contest for 2025 is NOW OPEN!!!!!!

Summary of the PHiP Scholarship:

The PHiP Bob Heffelfinger Memorial Scholarship is for current Parrot Head Club Members of an officially Chartered Chapter or their children of Parrot Head Club Members, for post secondary education.

Is there an age limit to apply for this scholarship?  No. Are you planning on any type of secondary education even further your degree?  Then yes, you are eligible.

This program was established in 2008. Three scholarships will be awarded in 2025. The funds may be used for tuition, books or living expenses, at an accredited brick and mortar four-year university or college of the student’s choice. The award will be paid to the winners school account, when a student account is established.

PHiP awards 3 awards in the amounts of:

First Place: $5,000
Second Place: $3,000
Third Place: $2,000

Eligibility: Parrot Head Club Members and members children (Sorry nieces, nephews or other extended family members beyond those mentioned are not considered eligible)

2025 Essay question for The PHiP Bob Heffelfinger Memorial Scholarship:

*Describe a time when you collaborated with others to achieve a common goal. What did you learn from the experience?

It is VERY important the applicant follows ALL of the rules and instructions. Only typed, electronic submissions will be accepted. Incomplete applications will not be considered eligible.

Make no references to your identity, your local parrot head club or your location in your essay entry OR your question and statement responses.

All applications must be signed at the appropriate place. We accept electronic signatures.

Last Chance to Pay 2025 Membership Dues or you will have to rejoin

 

Collection of dues is extended to February 15. All 2025 dues must be paid by
February15. It doesn’t matter what month you joined because our dues are only
$10.00 per person and we do not pro-rate them.  There are three ways to pay your
dues.
Method 1 – Use our website to renew, emeraldisleparrotheads.com. Use the Click
here to Join or Renew picture (or click this link!) and follow the directions. You do
not fill out a form to renew. There is a $1.00 fee that you need to add to your
$10.00 for each membership being renewed. This is the fee to PayPal. Also, you
do not need to have a PayPal account. Any credit card can be used.
Method 2- Renew your membership through the mail. Send check to

Method 3- Pay your dues at the February 7 Phlocking.
Please remember that if dues are paid later than February 15 you will have to
rejoin the club and fill out the form again. Our data base will be updated shortly
after February15 to reflect current paid memberships. Our club dues are lower
than any other club.
After paying a small amount of each membership to the National Parrot Head
Club, we use the rest to run projects to help the community.

Let’s see your funky, far out Threads and stellar, slammin’ Gyrations! Prizes for the most Out Of Sight attire and boogie… Aww sooky sooky, the 50/50 drawing will benefit the WE CAN BE association who support families and children with special needs in Eastern NC. This wonderful group provides assistance in equipment funding, therapy scholarships, and family/ caregiver education.
