Phlock, Rock and Roll…October 6, 2017

Hello Emerald Isle Parrot Heads!! Our monthly Phlocking will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017 at the E-Club. The fun begins at 7:00pm.  Our theme for this month Phlock, Rock and Roll and we will be helping our Parrot Head community participate in the “Hidden Rock” trend that has “rolled out” all over NC. We will have a special painting area set up where you can create your own special rock to hide in the area for a lucky passerby to find. If you’re not familiar with the trend check out Carteret Rocks or Onslow Rocks on Facebook. The 50/50 drawing will benefit Misplaced Mutts of the Crystal Coast. There will be music (some Rock and Roll of course), food and fun as always.  Come out and kick off the month with your Emerald Isle Parrot Head friends!!

Coast is Clear Under the Pier – September 17, 2017

It’s time for another EIPHC annual tradition. On September 17th (Sunday),we will celebrate the end of another fantastic summer season in Emerald Isle and enjoy our beautiful beach with a few less people on it. Mendy Barrows and Michael Moyer will once again act as the official hosts and “weenie rollers” (hotdogs are cooked ahead and wrapped in foil and kept warm).  The Club will provide the hotdogs, fixings and chips. If you would like to bring something to share, please do.  As always there will have games, music and a raffle with gift certificates etc.. If you would like to make donations of items for the raffle, please contact a member of your EIPHC board. Cash donations will be accepted for the food that you eat and all funds raised will be donated to the Carteret County Humane Society. Beach driving will be open and we will have a truck available to collect donations of dog and cat food and kitty litter. These items are always needed at the shelter.

We gather to the left of the pier as you face the water, past the trailer park, by the Cedar Street Parking Lot (private). If you’re driving, you’ll see us to the right as you come off the Black Skimmer access. This event is open to Parrot Heads and guests and it is a family friendly event. Don’t forget to bring a chair, your beverage of choice, suntan lotion and shade. It is a bit of a walk from the Pier Parking so you can phone a friend with a driving permit for the beach or bum a ride with someone who has access to Cedar St. Parking.
This is always a GREAT event and so much FUN!! Come out an celebrate as the Locals take back the beach!

Happy Anniversary to Us!! August 4-6, 2017

It’s time to come out and celebrate another Anniversary Weekend with the Emerald Isle Parrot Head Club. Plans for our Parrot Head Club Anniversary Weekend have been in the works for a while and we are all looking forward to a weekend full of PHUN and PHRIENDS.
The celebration begins as always with our First Friday PHlocking on Friday (Aug. 4th). Matt and the E-Club will be hosting and our favorite PH Chef, Jack Synan will be cooking a pig. There will be great drink specials and some free swag too! The new expanded patio area is open and there will be some fantastic music on the new outdoor stage. Join us on Friday night from 7-9pm.
Our Anniversary Island Party (August 6th) is out on Pelican Island. Parrot Heads and friends will arrive by boat, kayak, canoe, or other(?) for a fun day in the sun and water with games, grllin’ & chillin’, and music by Dicky Scearce & Jack Ketner. We need lots of help for the planning and we will have sign up sheets at the PHlocking. We need a few big birds to be in charge so please help by letting me know before the PHlocking if you can coordinate. Email Sue Stone at stonesend@gmail.com. Sign up sheets will be at the PHlocking. There will be a few specific emails to keep you all up to date on where and when to catch a ride if you need one.
Just so you know, this is the Annual event where we “fun raise”. No money involved, This party is just a way to thank our members for doing such good things all year. EIPHC provides hamburgers, hotdogs, rolls and condiments. There will be a few games, a swimming spot, music and all y’all provide is the fun, a dish to share and chairs, umbrellas, sunglasses and sun screen. No dogs allowed (due to food stealing, spilled drinks and general mayhem). We need volunteers to purchase the food, provide boat transportation to those that have no water vehicles, plan the games, clean up the island before and after, cook some food etc. Everyone can help. Everyone is invited and you can bring guests but it is not a public event.
It’s going to be a GREAT weekend!! Come out and celebrate the EIPHC!!

Tourist Season is in full swing on the island and you know what that
means… Pier People and Tacky Tourist everywhere you look. Now it’s our
time to turn the tables and poke a little fun at the ones who keep our
little island going by bringing in the big bucks and entertaining the
locals! Look deep in your wardrobe for some fun stuff to participate in our
TACKY TOURIST THEMED JULY PHLOCKING! Yes, we know you have some of that
touristy stuff before you became an EI local or a weekender. Anything goes,
so bring out the dark socks and sandals, the zinc oxide, the belly bags and
all those “Wings” Emerald Isle Shirts. The Phlocking will be Friday, July 7th at the E-Club. We party from 7-9 pm and we even welcome those special summer visitors.
Our 50/50 raffle will benefit A Second Helping Mission. A Second Helping- Emerald Isle is a community supported project to collect leftover food from vacationers as they leave the island. They have two drop off centers in Emerald Isle on Saturday mornings. Beside Bert’s Surf Shop 8-11 am and Stir It Up Coffee Shop 7-9 am at Emerald Plantation. The group needs money to buy a banner to make them more visible and money to buy ice each week. You can even sign up to volunteer at the meeting. Check out the website for more information or to volunteer. www.asecondhelping-emeraldisle.com/ Break out the tacky fun stuff and join us!

Calling all Parrot Heads!! Phlash Phlocking!!

The EIPHC will be Phlash Phlocking at Salt Bar on Thursday, June 8, 2017. Let’s all come out and welcome new owner, Sean to the island family officially!! Sean was a great supporter of the Beach Bike Poker Run and this will be a fantastic way to show our gratitude. Thursday night is shaping up to be a fun filled event with live reggae music by TreeHouse, Patron and Bacardi reps on premise and DOGS welcome!! I’m sure Annie, Bennett, Bouy, Mahi, and Tierney will be checking out the theory that “dogs relax to reggae”. The music starts at 9:00 pm. So grab your best buddy (human or four legged) and head out to Salt Bar to show them how we “Party with a Purpose”. Hope to see everyone there.

June Phlocking – June 2, 2017

WOW! What a month the EIPHC had in May. The Beach Bike Poker Run was a huge success with our biggest crowd and the most money raised in the history of the event. The month has flown by, and I’ll use that as my excuse for this Phlocking information being so late. You know the Parrot Heads just keep right on “Partying with a Purpose” so get ready to join us on Friday, June 2nd at the E-Club for our monthly gathering. The PHUN will begin at 7:00 pm and continue until at least 9:00 pm.  If we’re lucky, our new t-shirts unveiling the updated club logo will be available. Don’t hold me to that….but a fellow PH told me that it just might happen. The E-Club will be providing drink specials, yummy food and a great outdoor patio with Cornhole and my favorite Giant Jenga!!

This month we will be raising money for BackPack Friends and providing food to kids in needs on the weekends or over holidays when they are not provided meals at school.   Be sure to bring your food or cash donations and remember the money raised in the 50/50 drawing will also support this GREAT cause.  The following is a list of items included in the bags for students – Each Backpack Contains: 2  vegetable bowls, 2 fruit bowls, 3  meat stews or canned meat, 1 packaged noodles, 2 healthy snacks, 2 breakfast items, 1 peanut butter, 1  jelly,  4  snack crackers, 1 roll toilet paper, and 4 individually wrapped spoons.

Come join us for a guaranteed good time!! Hope to see you there!!
