In this issue:  We get a look at what the Tech committee has planned for the new website.  Congratulations are given to Chicago PHC for winning the Golden Coconut award.  After enjoying Jimmy Buffett’s appearance on Blue Bloods, we detail his other appearances on the screen, big or small, acting roles and cameos.  Finally we see how some Parrot Head clubs celebrated the holidays.

2022 MEMBERSHIP DUES

January is the time to renew your annual dues. All 2022 dues must be paid by
March 1. It doesn’t matter what month you joined because our dues are only
$10.00 per person and we do not pro-rate them.  There are three ways to pay your
dues.
Method 1 – Use our website to renew, emeraldisleparrotheads.com. Use the Click
here to Join or Renew picture (or click this link!) and follow the directions. You do
not fill out a form to renew. There is a 61 cent fee that you need to add to your
$10.00 for each membership being renewed. This is the fee to PayPal. Also, you
do not need to have a PayPal account. Any credit card can be used.
Method 2- Renew your membership through the mail. Send check to

Method 3- Pay your dues at the February 4 th Phlocking. January Phlocking is
cancelled.
Please remember that if dues are paid later than February 28, you will have to
rejoin the club and fill out the form again. Our data base is updated in March 1 to
reflect current paid memberships. Our club dues are lower than any other club.
After paying a small amount of each membership to the National Parrot Head
Club, we use the rest to run projects to help the community.

Emerald Isle Christmas Parade Float,  November 27! Come ready to ride or walk at 12 noon.

Anyone interested in riding or walking along side the float, join us at  ” BR’s” at 7802 Sound Drive, Emerald Isle, NC  at 12 noon.  There’s plenty of “bling” in the storage room for last minute decorating or bring some with you. Christmas music will be provided.  Bring your own lawn chairs or cushions to ride the 24-foot float or walk along side.   We strongly urge that you come dressed in your favorite Christmas costume or Parrot Head gear. Some candy (please consider bringing a bag) and beads will be available for tossing. Come show your support for EIPHC and Emerald Isle! The parade officially starts at 2 pm.

 

“LET’S RAISE THE WOOF” Phlocking

Let’s celebrate our favorite pets! Wear a picture of your most loved pet(s) pinned, taped, glued or stapled to your shirt, hat or pants! Dog and cat fur is welcomed too! You don’t have to own the pet, but you do have to love it! Maybe you’re its grandparent, aunt, uncle, or neighbor. Doesn’t matter, just have phun with it!
The 50/50 raffle will support Misplaced Mutts, a non-profit volunteer-based organization, dedicated to rescuing dogs and cats in shelters and less than ideal home situations. They are based out of our own Carteret County and operate through a network of foster homes. We would also like to ask for donations of new dog toys, new or clean used towels and beds, and cat and dog food. Any brand is appreciated, but mostly they use “4 Health Adult & Puppy” from Tractors Supply and “Purina One” or “Proplan” for cats. All donations will be delivered the next day!
So, doggonit, strut on out and have a purr-fectly good time while you paws with fellow Parrot Heads and admire their 4-legged friends. Also, a big “shout out” to Matt at the E-Club for providing free food and live music. Hope to see you there!

EIPHC presents “HOPE WALL 2021”

In lieu of our annual Tutus for Tatas walk, our club will be displaying decorated “In Honor/ Memory of” pink ribbons publicly October 2nd-11th on our specially designed HOPE WALL. The wall will be presented at our October 1st Phlocking. Then it will be moved and displayed outside the Movement Mortgage office at K and V Plaza. The ribbons will be available at our monthly Phlocking October 1st at Eclub. We are asking a $5 donation for each ribbon. They can be left blank, personalized, or decorated with bling. For those who would like to attend, we will have an official “Pinning Ceremony” outside at Movement Mortgage October 9th at 11:00 AM. Ribbons can also be purchased and pinned at the ceremony or privately pinned anytime between October 2nd-11th while the Wall is on display. In this issue:  Rob Hill presents the full musical schedule for Meeting of the Minds, a Texan laments the lack of Buffett concerts in his home state this year and ponders what if Buffett had moved to Texas in the 1970s. (It isn’t as far fetched as you think), we have everything you need to know about the three upcoming club contests, and we provide links to a dozen upcoming club events.

REMINDER!!! BEACH BIKE POKER RUN, AUGUST 7!

Are you ready to “Party With a Purpose?” It all begins on August 7, with $20.00 Fee and Registration at the E-Club at 11:30 a.m. and ends at 1:45 (CUT OFF). Don’t be late! During the registration period, Event T-shirts will be sold for $10 (limited amount) and 50/50 raffle tickets will be available then and throughout the run. Make the event even more spectacular by  dressing yourself and/or your bike according to one of the three themes:  PHINS, PIRATES, & PARROTS. Although there will be no contest this year, pholks will be acknowledged and celebrated throughout the event for their innovative and thrown together ideas! At 2 p.m, walk, crawl, or ride, to 7 designated locations where card sharks await with a poker card drawing and a $5 mulligan to help you obtain a winning poker hand paying 1st $300, 2nd $200 and 3rd $100 cash!  Benefits will go to SEMPER FI & AMERICAN FUND, specifically for the Kid’s Outdoor Odyssey Camp.

Our participating stops are offering special drinks and cash bars this year! Let’s reward them with tips and patience! Thanks to Trading Post, Beach Bums, Fish Hut, Snapperz, Flipperz, Gaffer’s and The Growler!  PHINS UP!
