Bring can goods and nonperishables to contribute to Storehouse Pantry, located in Morehead City, which provides much needed food to families in Carteret and neighboring counties! We’ll also be having a 50/50 for their cause! It’s that time of year to be thankful while we “Party with a Purpose” at the E-Club on Friday, November 1, 2019 beginning at 7 p.m.

President’s Notes October 2019
HOLIDAY CHALLENGE!
Here’s a challenge for all you Parrot Head PHriends. It’s easy, fun and a quick way to make it through the October, November and December, festivities! We all love this time of year, but it brings with it a lot of demands like parties, shopping, cooking (my least favorite), travel, etc. Try this out! Just smile, giggle, grin, chuckle and laugh as much as you possibly can! Take life and yourself less seriously and look on the bright side! Laugh at your mistakes, you can try again! Your smile is a powerful tool. It’s a gift we all possess to make ourselves and those around us happy! In fact, start today! Next time I see you, I’ll be grinning, and I’ll expect to see your smiling face looking back!
Got you smiling yet? We have many opportunities for you to try out this challenge beginning with the November 1 Phlocking, our building float workshops for the Christmas parade on Wednesdays and Sundays, our annual Christmas Party Phlocking on December 6 and the Santa Crawl on December 7! See our newsletter for details or visit us at www.emeraldisleparrotheads.com. Add to this challenge a “Party with a Purpose!” See you soon. Jan H. President.

President’s Notes September 2019
Hey Y’all! Hope you are having a phine time of year where we’re still having phun in the sun! I want to share with you my recent adventure to Myrtle Beach. A few of us EIPHC members visited the Throw Back Shell Party . It’s amazing when you can visit other clubs and experience so much in common and enjoy such a great time together. Eleven states were represented with 275 crazy parrot heads attending We loved mingling around the pool with pholks just like us who know how to party with a purpose! We made new phriends, took lots of pictures and contributed to the silent auction, the raffle, and donations! That’s how we roll! They raised lots of money for their charity and enjoyed doing it! Next year, we’ll plan to do this again with you!
That being said, we are all in it to win it! There’s no other organization like this one! Never was, never will be! Don’t you want to be a part of this? If so, come to the next phlocking on Friday October 4, at the E-Club or visit us at www.emeraldisleparrotheads.com. and become a member. Let’s “Party with a Purpose!.” See you soon, Jan
Confusion about times for the Coast is Clear Party
September 15th – Sunday Coast is Clear Under the Pier Party – beginning at noon, on the beach to the left of the Pier as you face the water. Michael Moyer will be the big bird again and is lining up all his help (weenie wrappers, set up and take down teams and raffle team etc.) . For those who don’t know, it is the first weekend of beach driving so it easy to get to or hitch a ride or walk from the Pier. Hotdogs will be available, just throw some money in the donation jar. We also ask everyone to bring a little something to share. There will be raffles, prizes, games and more. If you can contribute or secure any items for the raffle, please let Michael know. This is the time of the year when we “take back our beach” as the Coast is Clear. We love our tourists but it is always nice to have the beach almost to ourselves. Please remember to be careful about driving on the beach as it will still be turtle hatching season. The charities for this event are the Island Cat Allies and the Carteret County Humane Society Shelter and they are always so grateful for the money we raise! See you there!
