As always, the Emerald Isle Parrot Heads will be meeting at the Emerald Club at 7:00 PM on the first Friday of each month. This is great time to socialize with “seasoned” members, for new members to get “lei’d”, and for committees to make announcements.

Jimmy Buffett spent some time in Havana, Cuba a couple of weeks ago. He did an impromptu show outside a bar in Havana. It was just Jimmy, a guitar, and a mojito. Some marines were there for the show and shot the video (they were a little off beat on the salt, salt, salt).

Last month (March) there was a sea of green at the Emerald Club! Everybody was decked out, and the Limerick contest was hilarious! All of the limericks were personalized and dedicated to some of our favorite Parrotheads! There was a tie for the winning Limerick, Jesse Holland, Bobbi Raub and Betty Strader. The Emerald Isle Half Marathon is a Boston Qualifying Marathon! Their aim is to give back to our community and local charities. 50% of proceeds will benefit the Emerald Isle Bike path and 50% will benefit the American Heart Association. The event takes place Saturday March 28, 2015.

Despite the rainy weather at the St. Patty’s Day Festival, our raffle raised $621 for Family Promise…what a generous fun group of people who volunteered their time and wonderful Festival attendees who bought lots of tickets. Great day despite the rain! Thanks to all who donated items.
