Last month (March) there was a sea of green at the Emerald Club! Everybody was decked out, and the Limerick contest was hilarious! St. Patrick’s Day Festival Report
Despite the rainy weather at the St. Patty’s Day Festival, our raffle raised $621 for Family Promise…what a generous fun group of people who volunteered their time and wonderful Festival attendees who bought lots of tickets. Great day despite the rain! Thanks to all who donated items.

Hoop Pole Creek Clean up Report
The annual Hoop Pole Creek clean up this year helping out the Coastal Federation on March 7th was a great success. We had a total of 28 parrot heads participating including parrot heads visiting from Virginia. (friends of Jack and Renee). The weather cooperated nicely. Afterwards 19 of us Parrot Heads had a delicious lunch at the Monkey Bar Café’. W e thank everyone who made it a great success.

Ready For Some Fun in the Sun? The Beach Bike Poker Run is coming up Saturday, May 16. Dress up your bicycle in a selected theme, ride around town and collect the best poker hand! February (Valentine’s) Phlocking report
If you didn’t make it to our February Phlocking celebration of Valentine/Heart Day, you missed one heck of a party with about 150 attending! The Emerald Club favored us with a grand assortment of chicken wings from Eddie at Piggly Wiggly complemented by various sweets prepared by our very own Parrot Heads. DJ Rob got us all on the dance floor with a variety of songs from the past to the present and dancing the Cupid Shuffle was a highlight! Oh Yeah! And how about the “Crazy Hearts” game and our talented participants? The lucky winning pair, Lindsey and Clint, won chocolates of course and announced that they were recently married so we helped them celebrate! Our 50/50 winner and favorite bartender, Matt, won $67. Since February represents National Heart Month, the American Heart Association was chosen as our charity and, after additional donations were made later, a contribution of $80 was made. So if you missed the fun this month, don’t worry, you can catch up at the next Phlocking on March 6! Who knows what’s in store?
February Phlocking this Friday
Let’s celebrate the joy of having loved ones! In their honor, RED Day means you need to wear your favorite red and white (pink will work also). Cover your body from head to toe or just one item will do, but be ready to pay a price if you don’t have red or pink displayed and receive a reward if you do! Our DJ Rob will have a variety of tunes (sprinkled with love songs) to treat us. There will be a game for those of you who love a challenge and our usual 50/50 raffle. And of course, you can’t celebrate having a valentine(s) without something sweet on hand! So, to celebrate further we need a table/buffet full of cookies/sweets from your favorite recipe.
